Tafhep 25 (Tenofovir Alafenamide 25mg) , also known as TAF, it belongs to the group of medicines known as antiviral medicines used to treat chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in adults with compensated liver disease. Chronic hepatitis B is a long-term viral infection caused by the hepatitis B virus. This medication belongs to the class of nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors, which work by blocking the enzyme needed for the virus to replicate and spread in the body. Tenofovir Alafenamide 25mg  is a prodrug of Tenofovir, which means it is converted into its active form once it enters the body. This formulation allows for lower dosages and reduced side effects compared to its predecessor, Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (TDF).
